Holistic Psychotherapy
Holistic Psychotherapy is the intentional treatment of the whole self-driven by the psyche. These integrative therapies are person and body-centered therapies that encumber traditional and non-traditional treatments. Some treatments are embraced by the pharmaceutical industry and clinical governing bodies, and some are not due to political and nefarious agendas. There is nothing new under the sun. Many effective holistic practices designed for holistic psychotherapies are not new; they are traced back to ancient times and often can be seen throughout biblical history. Hebrews 12:15 tells us that bitterness springing up causes trouble, and many will be defiled. Jealousy, Fear, and Anxiety, Philippians 4:6-7 tells us to be anxious about nothing, request God, and pray with supplication. Low self-esteem, and identity issues, all these things cripple our souls, which means we cannot think clearly. Holistic is biblical and ancient, providing a space for wellness treatment of the entire person. It factors in mindset, environment, social, physical, and other elements that could affect a person. It is incredible how some would consider holistic psychotherapies new or new age when, in fact, there is nothing new about the core of holistic practices. Holistic Psychotherapies are an umbrella for various healing techniques that can be applied mentally, physically, and spiritually for complete healing. When we think about true healing, holistic psychotherapies are very practical and logical in comparison to pharmaceutical chemicals that are designed in a science lab. We are meant to understand/interpret our feelings and emotions. When we use approaches that are numb and alter our feelings and emotions, then we mask the problem. This is a band-aid approach. Holistic Psychotherapy is about understanding the root issue and self-discovery to heal the body, mind, heart, and soul, which invertedly heals relationships and changes the trajectory of manifestation. This form of therapy allows the connection of mind, spirit, heart, and body to align and gain wisdom, which is evolving. The better we understand that everything is connected and the correlation with experiences we go through, the better our awareness of purpose.
Holistic psychotherapy tools help us learn about who we are and discover the true power we possess. In our agreement to come to the school of Earth, we choose specific experiences as teachers, and when we don’t do our work or if we don’t activate particular tools that we have inside, then desired manifestations become a challenge. Therefore, we acquire the knowledge needed for evolution through self-discovery and holistic modalities. For lack of knowledge, we are led down a road of hardship and struggle. When we are not in tune with the right frequency and not aligned, energy becomes trapped. The trapped energy causes mental, physical, and emotional chaos, exemplified in thoughts and behaviors. It’s through Holistic Psychotherapies, such as meditation, breathwork, grounding techniques, nutrition, creative expression, and other key modalities, that we can tap into and discover the blockages that keep us in bondage. Clinical therapies such as cognitive behavioral, psychoanalysis, medication components, and person-centered therapies, amongst other clinical therapies, are at times combined with Holistic Psychotherapies. However, holistic psychotherapy can undoubtedly be a stand-alone approach and should often be if possible. It frequently offers a safe and effective approach to healing that benefits the whole individual on multiple levels.
It is common that when holistic therapies are explored, people experience stabilization in many areas. We understand changing the trajectory of thought will inevitably shift the manifestation. We are working with the mind, body, heart, and soul. Healing is connected to the soul; therefore, the spiritual component of healing is not ignored or de-focused in Holistic Psychotherapies; it is one of the primary and intentional focuses. Holistic modalities have been effective in treating psychological conditions such as depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, toxic relationships, addictions, and grief. Holistic Psychotherapies allow for the spiritual component to be explored in greater depth, with the core belief that the soul is a factor that cannot be overlooked or ignored. Considering all aspects of a person is key to success within Quantum Healing, a spiritual journey. Holistic Psychotherapy thinks about the person’s physical, social, psychological, and spiritual dimensions, for it is understood that the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual are connected. This approach best provides total and more effective support in struggling areas of a person’s life and helps the individual become more resilient and grounded with long-term effective change.
